This great lot offers a set from the decade's two most memorable Western films.

The Butch Cassidy set has some creasing across a few cards and one with some staining in the top right. Each card has some minor edge and corner wear. The True Grit set is in wonderful condition.

John Wayne won his only Oscar for his performance as grizzled one-eyed US Marshal Rooster Cogburn in Henry Hathaway's adaptation of Charles Portis' Western novel, in which Cogburn is hired by a precocious girl (Kim Darby) to hunt down her father's killers. Forty years later, Jeff Bridges received an Oscar nomination for playing the same role in the Coen brothers' own take on Portis' book.
