These Antique Leather Glove Stretchers “The Daniel Hays Company” are a rare item from the time surrounding the turn of the 20th century. They are made of metal (painted black), and are stamped with a maker’s mark and have “The Daniel Hays Company” painted on one handle. The tool is 11” long and 2 ¼” across its handles. This item is in excellent condition and can be used for its original intended purpose or displayed as a conversation item.

The Daniel Hays Company was a glove factory located in Gloversville, New York which operated under various names beginning in the mid-1800s. In 1903, it was incorporated as The Daniel Hays Company as per an article from the Buffalo, N.Y. Courier on Friday, December 25, 1903.
