Description
Laytu Chin Tunic, Burma. Early 20th C. Woman's short tunic made from four rectangular sections of cloth, sewn together to leave a vertical slit at the front and back at the neck and short side slits. Made of a warp-faced cotton tabby fabric, with patterning in supplementary weft inlay, embellished with cowrie shells. Size: 18'' x 17'' (46 x 43 cm). Provenance: Collection of Brooke and Dov Jaron, Philadelphia, PA.
