Segue, da pagina 542, il capitolo che parta dei secreti del vetro e delle pietre preziose. First and rare edition of this compendium of alchemy, medicine, folk remedies, magic, secrets. It aims to cure all the ailments of the body, both internal and external. The part, from page 528, which concerns the secrets of metals is very interesting: it deals with mercury, gold, silver, lead and iron; how to create gold and how to change silver into gold, gold into silver. The chapter starting on the secrets of glass and precious stones follows from page 542. Chalmers attributes the work to Gabriel Cramer, 1641-1724, of Geneva, who became a senior of the faculty of medicine; he supposes that it would have been edited by his son John Isaac, who graduated in medicine in 1796, who succeeded to his practice.Blake 448.
