Description
Good vintage condition, no holes or tears; some foxing according to age. Measures approx. 24" high x 18 wide. A painter in oils with the subject matter varying from abstracts to landscapes to the human figure, Tony Scornavacca was born June 9, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey as the son of Italian immigrants. After serving in World War II, he studied art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. In 1950 he moved to Miami where he became a successful artist and gallery owner. Along with other artists, he was one of the founders the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in 1962. His work is included in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College.
