Description
**First Time At Auction**

Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Chaco Canyon type, ca. 1150 to 1250 CE. A sizable pottery bowl formed via the coil-and-scrape technique with a white ground within the basin. Atop the white pigment are 3 hand-painted black zigzags, each densely filled with stripes, that course around the basin surface and perhaps represent snakes. Anasazi pottery was an invaluable utilitarian item for storing agricultural goods as well as a beautiful commodity for trading. Size: 9.3" L x 8.5" W x 4.25" H (23.6 cm x 21.6 cm x 10.8 cm)

Condition
Repaired with light adhesive residue along break lines. Abrasions and minor fading to pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to serpentine motif within basin. Previous inventory number handwritten on base.
