Pair of Chinese Ming Dynasty Jiajing Blue and White Porcelain Garlic Vases. Potted in garlic bottle vase, bulbous lower belly, thick, with rounded shoulder, long cylindrical neck, with shrink on the neck middle to enlarge onion head shape, with slight short mouth rim, raised on short small round, with slight concaved foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color. Blue stands for healing, trust and long life. Shades of blue are used to decorate homes for longevity and harmony.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayfish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
