Pre-Columbian, Mesoamerica to South America, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, ca. 100 BCE to 1500 CE. A collection of 4 mold-formed and incised pottery stamp seals from various Pre-Columbian cultures. These stamps could be impressed to make shallow incised patterning not only in clay but with ink on cloth and skin! Size of largest: 2.3" L x 1.2" W x 2.3" H (5.8 cm x 3 cm x 5.8 cm)

Provenance: Private Montgomery, Ohio, USA collection, acquired in the 1980's

The narrow slender stamp is repaired from 2 large pieces. Losses and chips to the faces and handles of the larger stamps, and concentric circular pattern stamp is intact.
