Description
Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom Period, 19th Dynasty, Ramesside Period, reign of Rameses II, ca. 1279 to 1213 BCE. A fine, mold-formed pottery stamp seal with an ovoid body and a flat stamp face containing a raised depiction of the cartouche of Rameses II (also Ramses II, Ramesses II, or Rameses the Great). The relief hieroglyphs which comprise the cartouche are delineated from their surface through thick layers of chalky white pigment. Size: 0.4" W x 0.8" H (1 cm x 2 cm).

Condition
Minor nicks and chips to peripheries and hieroglyphs, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout, and nice traces of original white pigment on stamp face.
