Prince Caspian is the second book in the Narnia fantasy series. A prince denied his rightful throne gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a fellow and tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954 when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance English at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Mere Christianity, Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics, the Chronicles of Narnia.

Pauline Diana Baynes (1922-2008) was an English illustrator, author, and commercial artist. She contributed drawings and paintings to more than 200 books, mostly in the children's genre. She was the first illustrator of some of J.R.R. Tolkien's minor works including "Farmer Giles of Ham" and "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil". She became well-known for her cover illustrations for "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings", and for her poster map with inset illustrations, A Map of Middle-earth.

Baynes illustrated all seven volumes of C.S. Lewis's "Chronicles of Narnia", for which she earned only a fixed fee, with no royalties; she regretted that the commission had overshadowed the rest of her work. That included some 600 illustrations for Grant Uden's "A Dictionary of Chivalry".
