A well-known art educator in Indianapolis, Claudine Paluzzi-Kelsey taught at IUPUI for thirty years, and spent many years as an instructor at the Indianapolis Art League, the Indiana School for the Deaf, Marion College, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art from John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis and received a Master of Art Education from Indiana University. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, she was the recipient of numerous grants and scholarships. Paluzzi was Artist in Residence at various locations across Central Indiana, and worked and studied in Rome and New York City. She was employed as court artist for Indianapolis television channels 13 and 59. Thousands of viewers witnessed the trials of Bret Kimberlin (a.k.a. the Speedway Bomber), Mike Tyson, and the 500 Mile Race Winner Dispute through her documentation. Among her public installations and commissions she lists Methodist Hospital, Brebeuf High School, Tuchman Cleaners, the Echrich Meat Company and the Children's Bureau. Over the years, she has created dozens of private commissioned child portraits and sculptures. One-woman exhibitions have been mounted at Indiana University, Purdue University and the Indiana State House. She has been an exhibitor at the Hoosier Salon, the Indiana State Fair, the 500 Festival, and in Muncie and Richmond.
