Description
An early Russian Soviet mixed media on paper illustration for the newspaper the Lenins sparks. The illustration depicts a pioneer playing drum. Signed with the Cyrillic initials PS and dated 1924 on the lower left. Inscribed in Russian: LENINS SPARKS, on the lower margin. Lenins sparks is the first and oldest newspaper for children and teenagers, published in the USSR and distributed throughout the Soviet Union. It is still being published in Russia under the title Five Corners. The newspaper Lenins sparks is still published under its original name. One of a kind artwork.
