ALBUMS. CHURCH ARCHITECTURE, ETC. A lot of 3 albums plus additional loose prints sold together. Approximately 313 prints altogether. Circa 1830s and later, dates vary. Albumen prints, original art (watercolours of Canterbury, churches, etc.; pencil drawing of "gaucho" with horse), lithographs and engravings taken from books, other material. Includes signed engraved portrait of Paul Sandby (1731-1809), English map-maker turned landscape painter who, along with his older brother Thomas, became one of the founding members of the Royal Academy in 1768. Prints: 5 x 4 - 21.5 x 27.5 cm. Including extensive handwritten notes. Mostly England, plus some of Rio de Janeiro: various churches/abbeys, markets, street scenes, portraits, costumes, locals, etc. Most mounted, a few loose. Albums: 3 folios, 2 oblong, half morocco over textured cloth boards, flat spines with gilt bands. Generally good condition, various imperfections: extremities rubbed, spine leather tearing; some spotting to interior, some prints worn. *Additional images and detailed condition reports are available upon request. **WARNING** This item is Overweight/Oversize and requires shipping consideration.
