Description

C. 1904. At the turn of the century, electricity shock therapy was believed to have therapeutic effects on health and wellness (hence the “Electricity is Life” marketing). The coin operated Petersen Medical Electro Battery (c. 1904) claimed to “strengthen your nerves by an invigorating electric treatment. One treatment. One cent.” This is a very rare countertop machine manufactured in the early 1900s. CONDITION: Wonderful oak cabinet with cast iron front in copper patina. Original paper, dial and comes with an original cast iron stand. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: Dimensions: 17 - 1/2" x 18" x 70".
