C. 1890. Rogers & McCartney Boston MA. This is a simply wonderful store window attention getter advertising James F. Shores Jr. Bookseller & Stationer, and A.K.P. Dearing, a ship rigger out of Portsmouth NH. The display was made by Rogers and McCartney, Printing and advertising House, 173 Washington St. Boston Mass. They were in business from the mid 19th century to the 1890s. The interior cardboard display with clockwork eyes in a period shadow box. CONDITION: A wonderful original condition, showing a couple of creases in the advertising display, but bright colors and original advertising graphic. An original shadow box case with original makers label on the back. A stunning early piece of motion advertising. PROVENANCE: From the lifelong collection of Bill Howard. Condition: (Very Good) Dimensions: 19" x 15" x 7"
