Pair of Katsuyuki Nishijima (Japan 1945) Woodblock Prints. 1- "Baiu-bare". A store front curtain advertising for the soup dishes is seen under the clear sky after the prolonged rains in June. 2- "Beginning of Summer".Front of a Japanese shop in early summer. Paper Type: Washi Special Notes: Signed in pencil, and titled in Japanese by the artist. Both professionally framed and matted at the Kabutoya Galleries. In frames each 16"x19"x1". Weight 8 pds. Katsuyuki Nishijima was born in 1945 in Yamaguchi Province, Japan. He had studied the art of woodblock printmaking at the studio of the Mikumo Publishing company in Kyoto. From 1965 to 1970 Katsuyuki Nishijima exhibited with the artist group Kyoto Independents 1965-1970 and in solo and group art shows. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate
