Custom Built Short Scale 5 String Banjo. Built circa 1970's in Needham, Massachusetts at the Martin Factory by Pete Colby, former band member Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra of New Hampshire). MOP inlay on radiused rosewood fretboard. 24 tension hooks having open ball ends on spun nickel thin rim. Patented Colby tailpiece, dowel stick hardware crafted and plated by Smakula Fretted instruments, Elkins, VA; recent set up by Andy Fitzgibbons. Scale; 26". Pot: 11". Nut 1 - 1/4". Included is a black Irin brand soft case with handle and back-pack straps.
