Description
Details:
David Remez autographed typed letter (TLS). A 1948 letter sent to Eliezer Hoofien, general manager of the Anglo-Palestine Bank. Translated in-part: "I wish to thank you for your letter... During my short stay in Switzerland, I paid special attention to this matter of printing stamps... I received the agreement of the stamp printing department of the Swiss postal service to have a young man of ours work in their department for six months or a year and learn the work in its entirety. I hope that after a certain period of training and purchasing the required machines, we will take our place in the East as distinct stamp printers.
Light toning on edges, fine condition overall.
David Remez (1886–1951) was an Israeli politician, the country's first Minister of Transportation, and a signatory of the Israeli declaration of independence.
