Levi Eshkol Sees To Agriculture Settlements in the New State Just Months After Israeli Independence
Typed letter signed "Levi Eshkol", in Hebrew, one page, 4to, October 6, 1948, on official letterhead, addressed to The Tzohar Centre of Settlement. "I received the list of members of the Jerusalem core who are meant to go to the Kasla. I must note with sorrow, that this core lacks any agricultural, social or settlement training. However, since the negotiations on the immigration of the Jerusalem core was conducted with settling institutes before I came into office, I decided not to delay its rise on the ground. Having said that, I must emphasize that we will not be able to approach all the permanent arrangements in Kasla before the members receive the appropriate agricultural training. I ask you therefore to speed up all the required arrangements in this matter..." Fine.
