Description
Ancient Egypt, Ptolemaic Period, ca. 332 to 30 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti bearing a concise inscription for a man named Hori. The funerary figure is covered in pale green glaze while holding a pair of agricultural implements in arms crossed atop the chest. Almond eyes, broad nostrils, and full lips comprise the endearing face while the head is framed with a tripartite wig. The inscription down the front of the legs reads, "Prophet of Osiris, Hori [?]" to indicate the name and title of the deceased. Size: 1" L x 1.2" W x 4.3" H (2.5 cm x 3 cm x 10.9 cm); 4.6" H (11.7 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Repair to ankles, with resurfacing and light overpainting along break lines. Minor softening to hieroglyphs and finer details, with light pitting, and fading to glaze pigment in scattered areas, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to figural form.
