Description
Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti standing in mummiform while crossing a pick and hoe across the chest, all covered in coarse, turquoise-hued glaze. The dignified face presents with almond eyes, a plaited false beard, and a lengthy wig, and a T-shaped bar of hieroglyphs is inscribed across the legs and midsection. Size: 1.2" W x 4.4" H (3 cm x 11.2 cm)
Provenance: ex-private Vero Beach, Florida, USA collection, acquired in Paris in the 1980s; ex-private old French collection

Condition
Abrasions and small nicks, with light fading to glaze, and softening to some hieroglyphs and finer details, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to overall form.
