A Rare George III Inlaid Mahogany Tea Caddy with Hidden Drawer
circa 1780, high grade mahogany veneers, cove molded lid and obverse with beautiful matched elliptical shell marquetry inlays, shaped brass escutcheon, lid opens to a crimson velvet ceiling, triple divided interior retaining mahogany lids and remnants of the original tin lining, the exterior side lifts to reveal a hidden storage drawer running length of underside, raised on ogee bracket feet.

Overall good estate condition; lids with some areas of veneer loss; a few minute areas of inlay loss to shells; tin lining with scattered areas of flaking; light wear to velvet; two unobtrusive veneer cracks to lift off side.
