the ormolu mantel clock in the Rococo style, the waisted case surmounted by floral and fruiting finial, the sides with pierced, trelllis fretwork, raised on an integral plinth base, the silver dial with Roman numerals, signed 'JAMES MURRAY CORNHILL LONDON 1211', the single chain driven fusee timepiece movement with signed backplate and anchor escapement, also numbered 1211,

Recorded in Baillie as working in1810, free of the Clockmaker's Company 1815, active until 1840 and 'a maker of great repute'.
