Nien Cheng 念鄭 or Zheng Nian 鄭念 (January 28, 1915 - November 2, 2009) was the pen name of Yao Nien-Yuan (姚念媛). She was a Chinese author known for recounting her experiences during the Cultural Revolution in her memoir Life and Death in Shanghai.

ARTIST BIO: Huang Yi 黄易 (1744 - 1802) also known as Dayi and Daye, was born in Renhe, Zhejiang (now Hangzhou , Zhejiang). A seal engraver and calligrapher in the Qing Dynasty . His teacher was Ding Jing , and together they were called the "Ding Huang School". One of the eight schools in Xiling, Ding Jing, Jiang Ren, Huang Yi, and Xi Gang are called the first four. His seal carving is more innovative than Ding Jing's. There is a saying that" Jiang Ren is more clumsy, Huang Yi is more skillful". His "careful ink strokes and bold sword play" earned him deep samadhi. He is the author of "Xiao Penglai Pavilion Epigraphic Inscriptions" and "Qiuying An Master's Seal Book". The calligraphy is the most exquisite official script, and the structure is based on the bell and tripod method, which is quite quaint.
