PROVENANCE:

William Worthing March (1940 - 2023) was the proud owner of a kennel club in Florida where he raised racing greyhounds in his early career. Later in life he became a jeweler and opened his own jewelry store. It was through this business that he was able to purchase from estates a collection of fine porcelains that have been consigned to us to sell at auction. During his career he had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries also adding to his collection.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Blue and White Underglaze Red Porcelain Plum Vase. Potted into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of abundant blossom interspersed dense foliage with sturdy branch tree. The under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years of Yongzheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
