PROVENANCE:

William Worthing March (1940 - 2023) was the proud owner of a kennel club in Florida where he raised racing greyhounds in his early career. Later in life he became a jeweler and opened his own jewelry store. It was through this business that he was able to purchase from estates a collection of fine porcelains that have been consigned to us to sell at auction. During his career he had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries also adding to his collection.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Flambe Glaze Porcelain Double Eared Vase. Potted in a amphora shaped vase, large, thick and tall, globular body, slightly oval lower body, rounded shoulder concealing gracefully to a prominent cylindrical neck, with flaring mouth rim, emerging two archaic pattern flanked from the neck to shoulder, raised with short splayed foot base rim and slight concave. From the top to the bottom, the variable glazes include red and blue colors, thick, multi-colored, brilliant like sunset glow. The surface of the glaze has a fluid appearance with a splash of purplish colors melting together to create abstracted effect against a turquoise-green ground underglaze. Smooth surfaces are covered in a mixture of green and blue giving it an artistic feel. Glazed to perfection with each flattened side reflecting light and drawing in the attention of the eye.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Yongzheng Reign Period.
