PROVENANCE:
William Worthing March (1940 - 2023) was the proud owner of a kennel club in Florida where he raised racing greyhounds in his early career. Later in life he became a jeweler and opened his own jewelry store. It was through this business that he was able to purchase from estates a collection of fine porcelains that have been consigned to us to sell at auction. During his career he had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries also adding to his collection.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Blue and White Porcelain Brush Holder Pot. Potted in brush holder pot, divided into w parts which are correspondence fit, globular shaped body, deep curvature, of a deep vessel, round straight upward to form the round opening rim, with round foot base rim. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of thousand Chinese calligraphy lettering inscriptions poems, followed with artist's signature and iron seals. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
