PROVENANCE:

William Worthing March (1940 - 2023) was the proud owner of a kennel club in Florida where he raised racing greyhounds in his early career. Later in life he became a jeweler and opened his own jewelry store. It was through this business that he was able to purchase from estates a collection of fine porcelains that have been consigned to us to sell at auction. During his career he had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries also adding to his collection.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Official Kiln Guan Ware Porcelain Bottle Vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a cylindrical neck, raised on short ring foot base and slightly concave. All reserved in Ge Kiln is deliberate crackle, or a network of cracks in the glaze, distinctive GE crackled glaze also known as jinsi tiexian which translates to mean gold floss and iron thread which details the look of several lines that appear in the crackled surface in greyish or brown underglaze base color. Ge ware is a type of celadon or greenware in Chinese pottery. It was one of the Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
