The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Alum Red Porcelain Brush Holder Pot. Potted in brush holder pot, divided into w parts which are correspondence fit, globular shaped body, deep curvature, of a deep vessel, round straight upward to form the round opening rim, with round foot base rim. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against alum red color, depicted of abundant bamboo leaves with Chinese calligraphy lettering inscriptions poems, followed with artist's signature and iron-red seals. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportion.The Under base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue square lines. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
