Description
This vintage map, created by R. Bonne and Raynal between 1775 and 1780, covers the area from New York City to Newfoundland. It features numerous named locations, bays, and rivers, providing detailed geographical information. The map is part of "Histoire Philosophique et Politique des Etablissemens" a significant work from the Age of Enlightenment with contributions from Diderot. Due to its controversial content, the publication faced a ban in France and was consequently published in Geneva, Switzerland. Crafted using copperplate engraving, this map is in overall very good condition, with authenticity guaranteed. It measures 14 1/2" x 9 1/2".
