Description
Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A mold-formed and turquoise-glazed faience amulet depicting the dwarf deity Bes, protector of women, children, and those within the home. The bandy-legged figure stands nude atop an integral plinth with hands placed atop thick thighs, a portly belly hanging over his waist line, and a bearded visage with perforations near the ear lobes and nostrils. Above his head is a feathered crown that would have stretched high above his head. Size: 0.3" L x 0.7" W x 1.625" H (0.8 cm x 1.8 cm x 4.1 cm)

Condition
Losses to feathers on crown as shown. Minor abrasions and fading to glaze, with earthen deposits along lower body, and softening to some finer details, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to overall form.
