Late Period, 26th-30th Dynasty, 664-343 BC. A deep turquoise blue glazed amulet of the dwarf god, he wears a high plumed headdress atop head and stands in classic pose with ears extended, bent legs, hands to hips and tongue extended. Intact loop hole for suspension. A protection talisman. Size: 2-3/4 inches (7 cm). Height + block mount. Provenance: Probably Dikran Kelekian Gallery, New York. Acquired by Vladimir Gurewich, late 1940s or early 1950s; thence by descent. #14805
