Native American / First Nations, Northern United States / Canada, Great Lakes Region, Cree / Ojibwa / Winnebago, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A vintage deerskin messenger bag with a braided cord strap and wood toggle for the flap. The front has an ochre yellow felt panel sewn to the leather and beaded with vibrant glass seed beads forming floral motifs. Size: 14" L x 13" W (35.6 cm x 33 cm)

Condition
Tear to wool front panel. Beading on flap is fraying and missing a few beads. Flower beadwork is intact. Wear to handle and areas of discoloration to hide. Otherwise very good condition.
