Manufactured in 1985 as one of only 200 rifles to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Weatherby company. Features a 24" blued round barrel. The sightless barrel is marked "USE ONLY/WEATHERBY/257 WM." on the left of the chamber. The receiver has all of the standard Mark V markings with "40th YEAR COMMEMORATIVE" on the floorplate with intertwining lines. Leupold two-piece scope bases installed. Gold plated trigger and gold plated bolt follower, machine jeweled bolt, and knurled knob. Mounted in a tiger striped walnut stock with laser carved floral decorations, rosewood nose cap and pistol grip cap with maple diamond insert. Brass plate on the right side of the butt reading "Weatherby/40TH/ANNIVERSARY/1945-1985/1 OF 200". Gold sling swivels and brown ventilated Weatherby recoil pad. Barrel and action retains 98% original blue. Rifle has been shot, bolt has very faint slide marks. Stock is in 98% original condition, cheek piece shows light dulling from use. Stock on either side of the action has some handling marks. Nice bore and mechanics. Case is in fair condition, one handle broken.
