Manufactured circa 1920s. Features a 28" black fluid steel side by side barrels each engraved with a band of foliage at the breech end. Birmingham nitro reproof marks, 2-3/4 inch chambers (extended since reproof). Concave rib with bead front sight, signed "ALEX HENRY & CO. 22 FREDERICK ST. EDINBURGH. INCORPORATED WITH ALEX MARTIN. GLASGOW & ABERDEEN" and engraved with a spray of scrollwork at the breech end. Border and scroll engraved case hardened treble grip action signed "ALEX HENRY & CO" on each side within a ribbon. Automatic safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" and with blued floor plate and top lever. Casehardened trigger plate and blued trigger guard each engraved en suite. Figured walnut 15 1/4 inch crossover stock including 3/4 inch leather covered recoil pad, and with checkered English style grip and splinter forearm with push button release. The stock is swept for right hand shooter with left eye dominate. The upper tang, trigger plate and trigger guard are fully swept with the stock. The underside of the butt is inset with a vacant silver escutcheon. Weight: 6 lbs. 2 oz. Comes in a fitted leather covered trunk case with maker's label (included but not attached). Retains 98% professional refinish throughout. Action retaining faded traces of original casehardened finish in protected areas. The stock wrist has very fine crack that extends 1.15" on a 45 degree angle toward the cone. Checkering is crisp. The leather covered recoil pad has some minor wear to toe and edges. Mechanically excellent and good bores. Case is in very good condition with little signs of use.
