Chinese Yuan Dynasty Blue and White Dragon Porcelain Meiping Plum Jar. The porcelain potted into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames, vapors, chasing blazing pearl amidst scrolling cumulus clouds, with face toward the heavens. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China?s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
