Description
A vintage industrial marine salvage artifact produced from the housing of a ship's binnacle constructed by Anaconda Cable and Wire Co. (Muskegon, MI). A bespoke piece with nautical design, featuring cylindrical wood body with brass mountings, supported on a rectangular base. Surmounted by a large brass head with glass crystal window, and accompanied with iron correcting spheres, or "Kelvin's balls." Original brass plaque affixed to front with operational details. Door to center of bottom wood section opens to reveal a contemporary electrical lamp. Provenance; a private collection.
Dimensions: 53 X 33 X 20 in.
Condition: Good to fair condition having mild to moderate age related surface wear and patina. Sold for historic and decorative purposes. Lamp untested. Estate fresh to the market.
