Antique framed oil painting of a large sailing ship, flying the flag of Denmark, titled beneathe the image, "Gloriadio,... of Capt. J. Olson 1848". Signed lower left, C. Olson, 1853. Carl Olsen (1818-1878) was a Danish painter well known for his portraits of ships. Gold gilt wood frame holds this magnificent stretched canvas painting of a bright blue sky, large sailboat moving through the vast gray blue sea scene.
