Two still life paintings including: The first, oil on Masonite board, flowers in vase, signed Eulabee Dix and dated '31 (NY-Calif 1878-1961) - measures 14" x 16" - not framed and in very good condition - Note - Dix was a well known portrait miniaturist which she produced during most of her illustrious career, but during the Depression when portrait miniatures were not as popular, she turned to still life paintings to make her living - this piece of art from this period; the second, a small unframed O/C roses in vase on table, late 19th century - canvas is tacked to a pine board which is original - paint loss mostly upper right, else good condition - 6" x 8". Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
