Signed with year on underside of base; (2) Guillermina Corona (Mexican, 20th-21st century). Mata Ortiz pottery bird jar. Signed on underside of base; (3) Luis Ponce (Mexican, 20th-21st century). Mata Ortiz pottery jar. Signed on underside of base. A wonderful trio of Mata Ortiz pottery examples: an owl jar by husband-and-wife artists Gerardo Tena Sandoval and Norma Hernandez de Tena, a seated bird jar by Guillermina Corona, and a jar by Luis Ponce. All three are adorned with skillfully hand-painted black-on-red decoration of abstract, geometric designs, traditional of Mata Ortiz pottery. Size of largest (owl jar): 5.5" W x 7.4" H (14 cm x 18.8 cm); 7.8" H (19.8 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition

All have incised signatures on underside of base; owl also has incised year. Some miniscule nicks to surfaces, but otherwise all are intact and excellent with good preservation of pigments and decoration. Owl and jar are accompanied by custom stands.
