Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A set of 3 hand-built and stone-burnished pottery vessels - including 2 bowls and a jar - that, except for the largest tripod bowl, are decorated with white-painted linear motifs atop russet-ground surfaces. Size of largest: 9.5" Diameter x 3.25" H (24.1 cm x 8.3 cm)

Condition
Both larger vessels with professional repair and restoration, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material; smallest vessel is intact save for small chips on rim. Each with light abrasions, minor fading to pigment, and scattered pitting, with some small perforations on walls of smallest vessel, otherwise in nice condition. Great remains of red and white pigment throughout. Each with precious inventory number handwritten in black ink beneath base.
