Africa, Ethiopia, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A personal steel cross with elaborate lattice work and eleven cross-shaped designs along the upper periphery. The lattice-work design is secured inside a solid triangular-tipped handle with notched and incised sections which display "X" and dot-shaped designs. The bottom of the cross displays a square openwork addition with a three-pronged cross design, and is secured in a similar fashion to the upper lattice-work portion. A striking and highly-reflective example! Size: 4.75" W x 11.875" H (12.1 cm x 30.2 cm).
