Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. An interesting set of 3 Chancay artifacts. First is a hand-built pottery drinking vessel known as a kero with a planar base, gradually widening walls, and a thin rim surrounding the deep basin, all covered in remains of white pigment. Next are 2 sets of silver tweezers, the longer made from 52.34% silver, and the shorter made from 91.93% silver. Both sets of tweezers are covered in lustrous patina. Size (kero): 5.2" W x 5.625" H (13.2 cm x 14.3 cm); (longer tweezers): 1.8" L x 0.625" W (4.6 cm x 1.6 cm); silver quality: 52.34%; weight: 3.1 grams; (shorter tweezers): 1.6" L x 0.5" W (4.1 cm x 1.3 cm); silver quality: 91.93%; weight: 3.4 grams

Condition
Light damage to both sets of tweezers, with light encrustations, and slight bending to overall forms. Kero has nicks and chips to rim and body, light encrustations, and fading to white pigment. Nice remains of pigment on kero, and good patina on tweezers.
