Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A fine gathering of six hand-knapped artifacts shaped from either jet-black obsidian or flint in either gray or red hues. First are three rectangular obsidian cores, used in making blades, with incredibly sharp edges and smooth surfaces. Next is a gray flint point with integral waves of cream within the body. Fifth is a crimson obsidian point with a triangular butt and a dramatically tapered point. The largest item is a knapped obsidian point with a slightly serpentine midrib. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size of largest (obsidian point): 1.9" W x 3.25" H (4.8 cm x 8.3 cm)

Condition
One obsidian core and grey flint item repaired from two pieces, with light adhesive residue along break lines. All items have minor abrasions and nicks. Nice smooth surface textures throughout.
