Offered here for your consideration is a Joseph Boulton Crouching Cougar Bronze. Joseph Boulton is a sculptor known for his depictions of animals and people. He studied at the National Academy of Design under Herman Atkins MacNeil. Boulton's bronze in this lot depicts a cougar crouching in a pile of leaves looking like it is about to pounce on its prey. Bid today and this wonderful bronze could make a great addition to your home or office decor!
MAKER: Joseph Bouton (1896-1981). Raised in Fort Worth, Texas and possibly born in Michigan, Joseph Boulton was a sculptor, painter, teacher and taxidermist and was especially known for his talents in depicting animals and his studies of Indians. During World War I, he served in France in the Marine Corps, and then returned to studies with MacNeil at the Art Students League. In 1966, he moved to Westport, Connecticut where he died in 1981.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between 1930s to 1970s).
SIZE: Approximately 6" wide and 16 1/2" long. Weight is approximately 11 lbs.
CONDITION: Good for its age, with minor imperfections expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
HANDLING: There will be a $12 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot.
