Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, Alaska, Inuit, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. An endearing sculpture carved from dark green-hued stone that captures the essence of the coastal region perfectly: the walrus. Splayed about atop a wavy rock this majestic male mammal relaxes, hind flippers curled to one side while girthy forelegs assist the long-tusked creature to hold its head and upper body aloft. Size: 8.25" L x 10.5" W x 4.5" H (21 cm x 26.7 cm x 11.4 cm)
