Description
A Tsuiki Jippo cloisonne enamel calligraphy or writing Box (Suzuribako), most likely by Ando Company, circa 1930.
The box is formed from heavy gauge copper, and transparant enamels on the lid decorated with tsuiki-jippo enamels in relief on a raised design of a Shinto shrine in a wooded setting, a Torii and lantern also present. The box contains a hardwood tray witha fitted inkstone and tsuiki-jippo water-dropper decorated with two small flying birds. The bottom with the seal and symbol of the Ando studio.
Comes with a tomobako box and sanada cords.
10 3/4 inches x 7 1/2 inches x 2 1/4 inches.
