The spine has an elaborately detailed depiction of flowers in a vase and geometric symbols, more flowers, and a what looks at the top a curtain. The back cover has an impressed design of a bundle of ribbon and three tassels all bound together. Inside the front cover is the provenance of the original owner written in as MC, Hinneville, Oregon and below printed as such. Presented to C.E. Hadson by his mother, in three lines, Dec 25, 1883.
