Description
William McKinley (January 29, 1843-September 14, 1901) TLS to John M Stahl. Letter dated 4 September 1896. In this typed and personally signed letter from William McKinley was a discussion of the 28th ultimo, (28th day preceding the current month), about declaring war on Spain due to the Cuban insurgents battling for freedom from Spain. McKinley was joyed as to the insight given by Mr. Stahl. This letter was written and signed after McKinley left the Ohio Governor's office but while he was running for President in 1896. Letter is on William McKinley's personal letterhead from his hometown of Canton, Ohio.
Condition
Letter has some wear and yellowing from age. Pencil notations at top and rear bottom. Letter was folded in two places from mailing. h. 8.5", w. 5.5"
