Description
KOCHLI - RARE RUSSIAN GOLD-MOUNTED CUT-GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE
This is a Russian gold-mounted cut-glass perfume bottle, accompanied by its original fitted case. It was made in St. Petersburg by Friedrich Christian Kochli in the late 19th century. The top of the bottle is adorned with a large amethyst.
HALLMARKS: city hallmark, as well as mark '56' (for gold content) and master's mark 'K*F' in Cyrillic for Friedrich Kochli. Friedrich Kochli - court jeweller of Nicholas II - please see the information below.
CONDITION: Magnificent Russian. Overall condition is good. For further information, please refer to the pictures.
PROVENANCE: 1. From a private old collection, Berlin, Germany, 1956-2020; 2. Hargesheimer Kunstauktionen, Duesseldorf, Germany, November 04, 2021 (the winner will receive this information); 3. Today, prices have significantly increased compared to those of 5-10 years ago.
WARRANTY: The buyer has 7 days to inspect items valued at up to $5,000 and 15 days for items valued at $5,000 or more. Items can be returned to the seller for a refund; please refer to the Terms for more details.

HISTORY: KEHLI FRIEDRICH CHRISTIANI (1838-1909) was the owner of a jewelry workshop founded by him in Saint Petersburg, known from 1864 to 1909 and a store of gold and diamond items. He specialized in jewelry, and they were awarded the bronze medal at the 1870 All-Russian Exhibition in Saint Petersburg. The participant of the 1900 exhibition in Paris, exhibited his products 'outside the competition', since he was a member of the jury. From 1902, he was a court jeweler, a supplier of the Palace of Empress Maria Fedorovna, and Valuer of the Cabinet of His Imperial Majesty. His son Theodor Friedrich graduated from the Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg in 1890, sculptor, Valuer of the Cabinet of His Imperial Majesty and member of the Russian Artistic and Industrial Society, uniting the majority of artists and masters of the company K.Faberze. In 1903 the father and son of Kehli founded the trade house 'Kehli F. I. and F. F'. F. Kehli performed many gift items on the orders of His Imperial Majesty's Cabinet, was an appraiser of the Cabinet. There are jewellery pieces from Kehli in the GIM collection.
